About Moonshot

A seat at the table, not a spot on the sidelines.

Our mission is to ensure that young innovators closest to the world's most pressing problems have a seat at the table and the opportunity to lead.

We find these ambitious young leaders, fund them, and back them through a two-year acceleration program built on a bespoke Embodied Leadership curriculum โ€” grants, world-class mentorship, and a global community.

They're running schools in refugee settlements. Building solar cold storage for smallholder farmers. Printing prosthetics for people the health system forgot. Most are doing it with very little money and almost no network.

Moonshot alumni now advise heads of state, partner with Google DeepMind, and speak at the UN, SXSW, and the Aspen Institute. We're a small, international team with a strong culture of yes we can. The work is demanding โ€” it's also expansive, creative, and a lot of fun.

The Role

You won't be handed a content calendar.

You'll build one โ€” and run the whole function as your own, with the team behind you.

We're looking for a Communications Lead to own how Moonshot shows up in the world through our main channels: social and community engagement, newsletter, website, and press. This is an ownership role. We want someone who will learn our mission and our community deeply enough to speak in our voice without checking first, bring ideas nobody prompted, and treat this function as their own.

To back you up, we work with independent videographers who cover our events and interviews, and graphic designers who shape our visual language and digital assets. You'll lead that work, brief it well, and hold it to a high standard. We give you the brand, the story, and the access. We're looking for the person who takes that to the next level.

Who Thrives Here

Nine ways to know this is your role.

Ownership

You run with a goal. Give you an outcome and you work out the steps โ€” and tell us early when something's going sideways.

Storytelling

You're a storyteller first. You know how to build one story across many channels, and the difference between a post that performs and one that means something.

Writing

You write well and fast. You absorb a brand voice and write in it convincingly. AI elevates your voice โ€” never a crutch.

Design

You have a real eye for design. Comfortable in Figma and Canva โ€” you build on brand guidelines without needing direction on every asset.

Global fluency

You've worked with international communities. Mission-driven, distributed, culturally varied audiences are familiar ground.

Ideation

You generate. Campaign concepts and creative solutions come from you โ€” not from a brief we write for you.

Range

You're comfortable owning across channels โ€” a content calendar, a website update, and a journalist pitch, all in the same week.

Feedback

You want feedback. You ask direct questions when something's unclear, and take input without flinching.

Mission

You care about this. Youth leadership, social innovation, and the SDGs are where you want to spend your working hours.
